About The Emerald Mile
An independent, UK-only guide to the Tesla referral programme — built to be the most honest and best-dated reference on the subject, not another single-owner link page.
Why this site exists
Most UK “referral code” pages hard-code one owner's link and repeat US terms that don't apply here. We do two things differently: we share referrals fairly across a rotating pool of owner codes, and we tell you the truth about what a UK referral does and doesn't give you in 2026 — all on one authoritative reference page.
How we verify facts
Every programme figure on this site — the 650-mile benefit, qualifying models, FSD availability, grant caps — is re-checked against tesla.com/en_gb and gov.uk before each publish, and each page carries an honest “verified” date. Where sources disagree (for example the referrer credit amount), we say so and decline to quote a number rather than guess.
Who writes it
Harriet Vance, Editor. This site is maintained by an editorial desk rather than a named individual owner, and no personal ownership or ordering history is claimed — that is exactly the sort of credential a reader cannot check. Every programme figure is verified against Tesla UK before each publish and carries its date.
Placeholder author
The author identity above is a labelled placeholder for this build and must be replaced with a real, accountable named person (with genuine first-hand experience) before publishing. Flagged in the README.
What this site doesn't cover
A scope statement, because a page that claims to help with everything is usually helping with nothing. We cover one thing: what a Tesla referral does in the UK, how to apply it, and the figures around it. Four things we deliberately don't do, and where they belong instead:
- Tax advice. We describe how a scheme is structured; whether it applies to your circumstances is a question for HMRC guidance or an accountant. We won't tell you what you'll owe.
- Insurance and finance broking. We don't quote premiums or arrange loans, and we take nothing from anyone who does. If a page in this niche does both, ask who is paying for the recommendation.
- Used-car valuations. Residuals move for reasons that have nothing to do with a referral, and a number here would be stale before you read it.
- Anything about a car we can't check. We don't publish specifications, ranges or prices for variants not on sale in the UK, even when they're being widely discussed elsewhere.
The reason for drawing the line here is practical rather than principled: the narrower the subject, the more often we can be right about it. Every extra topic is another set of figures to re-verify before each publish, and figures that don't get re-verified are exactly what makes the rest of this niche unreliable.
Our referral relationship
The links on this site are referral links. When you order through one, the owner earns Tesla Credits at no cost to you, and you receive the buyer benefit. That's the whole business model — stated plainly. See our full disclosure.
List your own code / contact
Own a Tesla and want your code in the rotating pool, or spotted a figure that's out of date? Email hello@theemeraldmile.co.uk. Contact address is a placeholder pending the real domain — see the README.
Disclosure: the links above are referral links — using one credits the owner with Tesla Credits at no cost to you, and gives you the buyer benefit.
