650 Free Supercharging Miles: What a UK Tesla Referral Is Really Worth
How to work out what 650 free Supercharging miles are worth to you in pounds, how the credit is spent, and why we won’t quote a single made-up figure.
“650 free Supercharging miles” is the headline number of the UK Tesla referral. But what is it actually worth to you? The honest answer is a range, and here's how to find yours.
Why there's no single figure
Two things move the number: UK Supercharger pricing (which varies by site and time of day) and your car's real-world efficiency (which varies with speed and weather). Any page that gives you one exact pound figure is glossing over both. We won't invent one.
Work out your own number in 30 seconds
- Check your car's efficiency on the trip screen — say, miles per kWh.
- Divide 650 by that to estimate the kWh the credit covers.
- Multiply by the pence-per-kWh the Tesla app shows for your usual Supercharger.
Because both inputs move, treat the result as an estimate and re-check live pricing in the Tesla app.
How the credit is spent
The miles land on your Tesla account after delivery and are drawn down automatically when you Supercharge, until they're gone. There's nothing to redeem and no expiry gimmick to worry about in normal use — but confirm current terms on the Tesla UK Refer & Earn page.
The bottom line
It's free money toward charging, with nothing to give up. Just don't confuse it with an FSD trial (that's a US benefit) or assume it stacks with the Electric Car Grant (most Teslas exceed the cap).
