The same numbers, a different question

Our earlier piece on this report asked whether a paid Charging Membership is worth it once your 650 free miles run out. This one asks a different question: given a US network that's still expanding and a membership model still evolving, what's actually likely to change for a UK owner between now and the end of Q3 2026 — and what's settled regardless of how those US numbers move?

What tends to move quarter to quarter

Supercharger network size, reported pricing, and membership terms are all things Tesla has changed before without much advance notice, in both the US and UK. A reported US figure in June doesn't lock in what the UK network or UK pricing will look like in September — treat any number in this space, including the ones we've cited, as a snapshot rather than a forecast.

What's actually worth watching this quarter

Three things are worth an eye over the next few months, none of which we can predict, only flag: whether a UK-priced Charging Membership becomes available on more UK accounts (it isn't universally confirmed as of this publish), whether typical UK Supercharger pricing shifts from its 25–40p/kWh range, and whether the UK network's dated size (2,747 chargers as of end May 2026) grows meaningfully by the end of Q3. We'll revisit this note with dated figures if any of those move.

What definitely won't change: the referral itself

Whatever happens to network size or membership pricing, the 650 free Supercharging miles a UK referral earns on a new Model 3 or Model Y order aren't tied to any of it. The benefit doesn't shrink if pricing rises, and it doesn't grow if the network expands — it's a fixed mileage credit, applied after delivery, regardless of how Tesla's charging economics evolve around it. Our outlook, clearly hedged

We don't have a confirmed UK roadmap for Supercharger expansion or a UK membership price, and we're not going to manufacture one. What we can say honestly is the pattern so far in 2026: the UK network has grown steadily rather than in sudden jumps, and Tesla has tended to announce pricing and membership changes with little lead time. Buyers ordering now shouldn't wait on an assumed announcement — decide based on what's confirmed today, and treat anything we publish here as dated the moment it's written.
