The referral: fixed, whatever trim you choose

The 650 free Supercharging miles apply identically to every UK Model Y trim. The Electric Car Grant: capped by price, and trim moves the price

The 2026 Electric Car Grant is worth up to £3,750 (Band 1) or £1,500 (Band 2) on new EVs under £37,000. Trim genuinely does move your price — RWD is the cheapest of the three, Long Range and Performance add cost on top — but reported entry Model Y pricing from around £41,990 (February 2026) already sits above the cap even at the cheapest trim. In practice, this means trim choice doesn't currently decide grant eligibility for a Model Y either way: none of the three trims qualify. The home-charger grant: entirely unrelated to the car

The EV Chargepoint Grant, worth roughly £350 and risen to £500 from 1 April 2026 for eligible renters and flat owners, is tied to your home-charging situation — not to your vehicle at all. Choosing Performance over RWD has no bearing on whether you qualify or what rate you get; it's the same grant whether you order the cheapest or most expensive Model Y trim, or indeed any other EV.

Salary sacrifice and financing costs: trim-sensitive, but not incentive-specific

If you're getting a Model Y through a workplace salary-sacrifice scheme, a pricier trim increases the underlying cost the scheme is built on, which typically feeds into a higher monthly sacrifice amount. The exact tax and scheme mechanics depend on your employer's specific arrangement, so we won't quote a generic figure here — check with your scheme provider for how trim price feeds into your own numbers. This isn't a Tesla- or referral-specific incentive; it's simply that a more expensive trim costs more, however you finance it.
